I like to eat and also like to be healthy. To have healthy vegetable meals is a help to reach my goal.
This cabbage recipe is one of the best vegan recipes I have You don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy it.
It's easy to do and taste delicious. It's one of the cabbage recipes I used a lot when I was living in Beijing. I still use it pretty often today.
Clean the cabbage and cut it into big pieces or shred it.
Put rice wine, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger root in a small bowl; stir together and then set aside.
Heat the oil in a wok over medium-high heat.
Add red pepper flakes and minced garlic, stir-fry until it becomes aromatic but not scorched.
Add cabbage and stir-fry until limp, but not mushy.
Add contents of seasoning bowl and cook, stirring 1-2 minutes more.
Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and shredded carrot. You are ready to serve.
Tip: You can add a bit of onion powder to give it some depth if you like. There is room to be creative!
This recipe lets me remember what my friend Helga said: "Great cooking does not have to be costly or take a long time to prepare." I sure agree with her. Here is her site: cooks recipe central.
