With this chicken recipe, you can have an authentic Chinese dish from your own kitchen.


  • Chicken breast -- 2, boneless and skinless, cut into 4 equal pieces  
  • Vegetable oil -- 1 tablespoon
  • Cooking spray
  • Sugar -- 1/3 cup or to taste
  • Lemon juice -- 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce -- 1/4 cup
  • Garlic -- 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Ginger -- 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Water -- 1/2 cup
  • Cornstarch -- 4 teaspoons


  1. Spray chicken breasts with vegetable oil spray.

  2. Grill chicken breasts 5 minutes per side or until they are brown in spots, then chop them into bite size pieces.

  3. Combine sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, oil, garlic and ginger in a saucepan, heat over medium, stir often until sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil.

  4. Combine cornstarch and water and add to sauce pan, stirring often.

  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer until sauce thickens.

  6. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat, add chicken to sizzle, then reduce heat and pour sauce over the chicken.

  7. Heat and stir through.

  8. Serve over rice.
