Chinese Mongolian Beef Recipe

   

Mongolian beef recipe is a Chinese dish enjoyed by millions.

Many Chinese restaurants that offer meal delivery service say it is a very popular item. It's one of the best beef recipes they have. You might have ordered it as a takeout to enjoy somewhere. Yet today you'll have another way to savor it: in your own kitchen. This Chinese beef recipe allows you to have a nice meal quickly.

Ingredients:

1. Beef flank -- 1 pound, thinly sliced

2. Marinade:

  • Soy sauce -- 1/4 cup
  • Hoisin sauce -- 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic -- 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Sesame oil -- 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar -- 2 teaspoons
  • Red pepper flakes -- (optional), 1/2 tablespoon or to taste (or use 1 tablespoon Mongolian Fire Oil instead)

2. Others:

  • Red or green bell pepper -- 1/2 cup
  • Onion -- half white, half red (to make the dish more appealing and nutritiously balanced.)
  • Carrot -- (optional) 1/2 cup
  • Green onions -- 2, chopped
  • Vegetable oil -- 1 tablespoon


Instructions:

  1. Mix the beef with marinade. Cover and refrigerate it for 1 hour or more, overnight if possible.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok (in or large skillet) over high heat. Add the green onions to stir fry until aromatic, then add in the beef to cook a few minutes until it becomes light brown; Remove, leaving the sauce in the wok.

  3. Add the other veggies to the wok and stir fry until they are no longer raw, then add the beef, mix well. Here you go, your very own Mongolian beef. Serve and ENJOY with rice.
